John Mark Wandolo
John is a graduate of the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), South Africa and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi. He has garnered over 30 years work experience in the banking industry with extensive exposure in Corporate, Institutional Banking and Credit Risk. John joined KCB in 1991 and rose through the ranks to the position of Corporate Banking Director leading a team of more than 200 bankers.
His illustrious banking career brought him many accolades including, Corporate Banker of the Year (2009), Corporate Banker of the Year (2010), Corporate Banker of the Year (2011), and Best Corporate Bank (2012), all awarded annually through, “Think Business Banking Awards”.
John is a co-founder of Nile Capital Insurance Brokers (E.A) Limited (NCIB) and the newly established Nile Capital Reinsurance Brokers Kenya Ltd (the Nile Cap Re). Under his leadership as the Board Chairman, John ensures the Board’s effectiveness through the establishment of sound corporate governance standards. Moreover, as a recognized captain of industry, he currently sits on the board of Guaranty Trust Bank (GT Bank) Kenya Limited as an independent Non-Executive Director. He is also a co-founder/partner at Aces Global Consulting Limited, a corporate finance consulting firm.
