Arthur Vincent Opinya

Arthur is the Group Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Nile Cap Re, a subsidiary of Nile Capital Holdings Limited. His career journey, spanning over twenty (20) years in the Financial Services sector, across retail, commercial, micro finance banking and Insurance has been marked by a clear track record of strategic leadership and delivery, where he has excelled in roles spanning business development, project management, product development and management.
Prior to founding Nile Capital Insurance Brokers E.A. Limited (NCIB) in 2013 (an affiliate of Nile Cap Re), he held several roles at among others: Compucredit Inc. (now Atlanticus Holdings) in Atlanta Georgia, USA, Standard Chartered Bank Kenya, Faulu Kenya Limited, Commercial Bank of Africa (now NCBA Bank) and Jubilee Insurance Kenya. He was an instrumental member of the team that rolled out Mobile Banking across 6 African Markets for Standard Chartered Bank in 2008 and 2009 as well as Retail and SME products at Faulu Microfinance Bank after it was licensed as the first Microfinance Bank in Kenya.
As a seasoned business leader, Arthur has grown the business across its existing clients base and successfully implemented strategies to attract and retain clients, whilst working on placements of risks on the various global reinsurance markets (London, Hong Kong, The Caribbean Islands and The United States). He has also overseen the expansion of the group across various African markets, with imminent roll out of the two insurance brands (Nile Cap Re and NCIB) to Southern Africa (Botswana), West Africa (Ghana and Liberia) and East Africa (Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda). His leadership ethos revolves around fostering teamwork, nurturing talent and driving partnerships, leading to the sustainable growth of the businesses.
Arthur holds an Master of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance both from The Michael J. Coles College of Business, Kennesaw State University, Atlanta, GA, USA (www.kennesaw.edu). He also holds a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) from the College of Insurance, Kenya (www.coi.ac.ke). He is currently pursuing his Diploma in Insurance from The Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF www.anziif.com).
